Information is currently available from an overwhelming number of sources and in a huge number of formats, including printed text, television, videos, library databases, and websites. Students will need to be able to choose the best source for what they need to know, as well as whether they need a thorough analysis of a subject, a concise description, statistics, up‐to‐the‐minute data, etc.. These skills are necessary for everyone.

This self-paced tutorial consists of 9 sections taking you from understanding your information need to citing your sources. Another great information literacy resource is our LSC101 course. This 1 credit class takes you through the research process over 10 weeks. Offered during the Fall and Spring semesters, LSC101 examines how to find, choose and use a variety of resources. This course is essential for every student’s academic success. Sign up for Spring semester.
