Due to an increase in the number of courses in the Natural Sciences that are requiring research papers and projects, the Library is undergoing trials of two databases: Science Full-Text Select and Science Reference Center.
Science Full-Text Select contains more than 400 full-text journals in the discipline. This scholarly article database will be useful for research assignments that require students to find in-depth, current research being done in the field on a specific topic.
Science Reference Center includes full-text encyclopedias, biographies and ebook sources. This database will benefit students who are interested in gaining an overview or background information on a topic, or need help understanding basic concepts covered in the course.
The Library is looking for feedback from faculty and students in their interest level for these resources, and whether it should acquire them to support the curricula. Comments can be made on the Library’s Facebook page or sent via email to kpangall@northshore.edu.
